Describe a historical event

You should say：

二、整理答题思路（思考素材）（You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes。）所以大家就可以利用这一分钟的时间进行准备，整理：

1、要交代这件事情是什么，即what the historical event was。

2、这个历史事件发生的地点和事件，也就是交代事件发生的背景。where the historical event happened ，when the historical event happened。（重难点）

3、解释这件事对你的意义，也就是对你有什么样的影响。and explain what this historical event meant to you。

三、进行答题（构思答题细节）You have one minute to think about what you are going to say。紧紧抓住这两分钟，不要让“紧张”占据了全部。

1、这个历史事件是什么：

Speaking of a historical event，I want to talk about the transfer of the sovereignty of Macau to China on the 19th of December 1999。

2、这个历史事件发生在哪，在什么时候发生的：

Held at the Cultural Center of Macau Garden， the official ceremony started from when the Portuguese Governor lowered the flags and announced the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region，which recorded the historical moment of Macau finally coming back to China after over one century of occupation by Portugal。The moment was really thrilling and sensational because we Chinese had been waiting for this moment for too long。

At the grand evening party， a 9-year-old Macao girl led the choir to perform a song named Song of Seven Sons。 The melody was so moving。The lyrics were like this：“Do you know Macao is not my real name？ I have been away from you for too long，mother。What they carried off were our bodies，you still kept our inner soul ？The song totally expressed the feeling of an innocent child who was deprived of her mom and finally came back to her mom years later。All the audience was so moved that a lot of them burst into tears。

（这里需要注意的是，交代事件的时间和地点，难免要描述事件发展的过程，所以这里一定是重难点，也是事件类话题的共同点）

3. 这个历史事件对你来说意味着什么：

This historical event impressed me a lot not only because of the event itself，but also because of the memories it left me。
