学校简介

巴斯大学邻近巴斯市，位于伦敦西面170公里，乘火车往伦敦需要80分钟。大学共有7000名全日制学生，其中约有750名是留学生。

学校设施：

大学一流的设施适合7000名本科生及研究生的需要。图书馆有图书及期刊40万册，使用现代化的信息查询系统。提供一流的教学、研究及使用计算机服务。大学在暑期间为留学生提供英语强化及学习技巧过程。

Introduction to the University of Bath

The University of Bath was founded in the 60s as a college of applied technology and is located on a hill above the beautiful city of Bath. The campus itself makes an unfortunate contrast, but is redeemed by its functionality. Students like the amiable and close-knit atmosphere that Bath presents. Although numbers are increasing, Bath has turned down the chance to merge with the city's higher education college.

Bath's graduates are highly employable and, despite extending its reach into the fields of languages, management and education, it still focuses on social and policy sciences: its mechanical engineering department is unbeatable and pharmacy and pharmacology also do very well in the Guardian's assessment.

There are a high proportion of overseas students at Bath - 21% in September 1997 - but whether this is due to foreign appreciation of Jane Austen is uncertain. A vast percentage of first year students live in institutional accommodation, but there are rooms in the private sector too.

Among the university's alumni are Don Foster, Lib Dem MP, and Russell Senior, once of thinking man's pop band, Pulp.

Bath is served well by transport links: Bristol is 15 minutes by train and the M4 is only 10 miles away.
