　　被动语态

　　概念解释：被动语态体现的是人或物与动词的关系问题。当句子词序体现的是人或物发出动作时，动词的形式用主动态；当句子词序体现的是人或物被动接受某一动作或行为时，动词的形式就要用被动态。被动语态在时间概念上可以体现为现在、过去、将来以及隶属于这几大时间范畴的进行时。

　　示例1：We call this old musical instrument a clavichord.(我们发出call这个动作，词序上体现的也是这个状态，所以，用主动态)

　　示例2：This musical instrument is called a clavichord.(该乐器与称为call之间是被动关系，词序上体现的也是这个状态，所以要用被动态)

　　示例3：It was made in Germany.(it与制造make之间是被动关系，词序上体现的也是这个状态，所以，用被动态)

　　示例4：Our clavichord is kept in the living room.(钢琴与keep之间是被动关系，词序上亦如此，所以用被动态)

　　示例5：The instrument was bought by my grandfather many years ago.(该乐器与购买buy之间是被动关系，而且词序上亦如此，所以用被动态)

　　Mr. and Mrs. William had always spent their summer holidays in Los Angeles in the past, in a small boarding-house(寄宿房舍) at the seaside(海边). One year, however, Mr. William made a lot of money in his business, so they decided to go to Rome and stay at a really magnificent(富丽堂皇的) hotel while they went around(兜，转) and saw the charming(迷人的) sights of that famous city.

　　They flew to Rome and arrived at their reserved(预定的) hotel late one evening. They expected that they would have to go to bed hungry because in the boarding-house they had been used to in the past, no meals were served after seven o'clock in the evening. They we, therefore, surprised when the clerk(工作人员) who received them in the hall of the hotel asked them whether they would be taking dinner there that night. "Are you still serving dinner then?" asked Mrs. William.
